What do you wish you could do more every day?
My answer … Spend more time getting fit at the Jim Dailey Fitness and Aquatic Center.

For years I worked out 4-6 days a week at this City Owned fitness and aquatics center, arriving at 5:30AM.
Facing health issues the past 8 months, I’ve cut way back. Despite this setback, I am in the process of finding the right medical/personal formula to rebuild, resume a fitness program and return for a few more years of hiking in our beautiful Natural state.
I wish to thank the Little Rock City Board for honoring me by naming the center after me when I retired from the Mayor’s office in 2006 after 14 years. I also wish to thank the staff and the volunteer Advisory Committee for countless hours and commitment to keeping JDFC one of the finest health and fitness facilities in Central Arkansas. Below are photos I took earlier this week at the most recent Committee meeting. My hat’s off to Layne Brett for her leadership during the last three years. An amazing go getter!!

In closing, allow me to tell you why JDFC is so special to me. It was already special … I worked out there even before the naming.
It’s special …
… because it’s a very nice, well equipped gym with indoor and outdoor pools.
… because it truly represents a mosaic of LR … young, old, moderate to wealthy, a mix of races and cultures, a gathering place for patrons from all parts of LR, a long list of events and activities, great location and a proven place to improve your health and wellbeing.
That’s why I love JDFC.
